Hi Everyone,
Middle School Football Spring Training will be starting soon and I wanted to update all of my middle school families on dates, times, and schedules. I hope this finds you well and ready to get back to work. I will cover all of the information in this email on Tuesday, January 30th at 6:30 pm in the PRMS Cafeteria. I look forward to seeing all of you.
Workouts will begin this year on Monday, February 5th. Training days will consist of Speed and Agility with Coach McClure on Mondays and Wednesdays, and Weight Training with the HS Varsity Staff on Tuesdays and Thursdays. In the event of inclement weather, or Early Release days, Fridays will serve as the make-up day for that week. We will communicate all adjustments to the schedule ahead of time. However, in a normal week we will train Monday thru Thursday with Fridays off. All workouts will be supervised by myself, Coach McClure, and my entire HS Varsity Football Staff. Our trainer, Britton Harper, will be on campus to attend to all potential injuries. We will provide players with a locker room to change clothes, and a secure classroom to store their book bags and important items. Also, a coach will always stay with players until everyone is picked up when things wrap up.
All workouts will be at the High School. At MS dismissal, all participating football players will head directly to the pit. After taking attendance, I will escort everyone over the to the HS for a 20 minute Study Hall that concludes at 4:30 pm. All workouts, Speed and Agility or Weight Training will conclude at 6 pm. Players can be picked up at the High School under the awning near the gym. Please allow 10 minutes or so for transition time from the conclusion of the workout to getting to the parking lot.
Weight Training days will conclude on Thursday, May 3rd. However, Speed and Agility training will continue through May 31st. The Training Fee for the entire Spring is $60. This includes 24 Weight Training sessions and 32 Speed and Agility sessions. Honestly, there is NO better deal in town. Cash will be accepted, and checks should be made out to PRABC. I have attached the McClure permission form which all players will need to turn in with their money. We will be accepting permission forms and money at the Parent Meeting on 1/30. If you cannot attend the meeting, your son/daughter can turn in their form and money to me during the first week of workouts.
*NOTE: On the permission form, there is an option to buy a McClure Sports T-shirt. Money for the shirt, check or cash, will need to be turned in to Coach McClure separately. Checks for T-Shirts need to be made out to McClure Sports.
**NOTE: All participating players must have an updated physical in order to train. Physicals from last football season should cover most of the players, but if the physical date is more than a year old, then players will need to go to the doctor and get a new one. I will provide new physical forms at the parent meeting. I have all of their physicals from last football season, so I will communicate to the players directly when their physical date is up. They may also use their physicals from other sports as well. New players will need to turn in an updated physical to me when they submit their money and McClure permission form.
I am excited to get started! I will answer all questions at the parent meeting… if you cannot attend, feel free to email me directly.
